1. Entrant must be the photographer and sole owner of the photo.
2. Entrant must be 13 years old or older and, if under 18, must have signed permission from his or her parent or legal guardian.
3. Photo must be a recent (not older than one year), original shot of a public location in either North or South America or any of the 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. The location must be clearly identified, e.g., Rainbow Falls, Hilo, Hawaii.
4. Horizontal pictures are preferred over vertical. Any vertical photographs submitted may be cropped to fit a horizontal format.
5. Scenic photos only. Images with identifiable people in frame will not be considered.
6. Photos stamped with date, time, copyright, titles, text, watermarks and/or special graphic treatments are generally not considered.
7. Maximum of two photos per entrant.
8. Photo may be mailed or emailed. If mailed, prints should be no larger than 8 x 10. If emailed, format should be in jpeg or gif format no larger than 5 megabytes). Photo may be color or black/white. Postcards from America reserves the right to crop or redesign photos. (Note: print entries will not be returned. Be sure to retain a duplicate for yourself.)
9. Photo must be accompanied by a brief photo caption (50 words or less) describing the image.
10. Starting October 29, 2013, the first of four finalist images will be selected, made into an e-postcard and sent to subscribers. Each successive week another finalist will be selected. Subscribers will vote for the winner. Entries will be accepted until 8 PM, EST, November 15, 2013. However, the sooner you enter the better your chances. Enter today.

Notification, Prizes And Publication Of Winners
All four finalists receive an autographed copy of the companion book Discover America Diaries, Volume I. The Grand Prize winner, announced on December 10, 2013, receives the book plus $100, just in time for a little extra holiday shopping.
Winners will be notified via email. Entrants must respond with acceptance within seven (7) days of notification.
