OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR

PHILIP E. BATT
GOVERNOR

October 7, 1997

Dear Priscilla:

It depends on whether you want to enter Idaho from Montana or Wyoming. If you enter from Montana you should visit Coeur d'Alene and travel straight down Highway 95 to Boise . You should stop and see our land grant University of Idaho in Moscow and then our only seaport in Lewiston. Payette Lakes in McCall is a must see. You need to ask directions in McCall and then travel the back roads to Stanley and then down to Sun Valley. You will have to backtrack 3 hours from there to Boise and then on
I 84 to Ontario Oregon.

If you enter from Wyoming you will want to tour Yellowstone National Park first and then visit our INEEL facility outside Idaho Fa11s. Next travel to the Craters of the Moon National Monument and then Sun Valley, Stanley, Boise and up 95 and into Spokane Washington from Coeur d'Alene. You need to take a side trip while there to see Lake Pend Oreille and Sandpoint. It is a short drive from Coeur d'Alene.

If you have never attended a rodeo, the Caldwell Nite Rodeo and the Kiwanis Barbecue should be held during the week you are in Idaho. These both take place in my home County of Canyon and are great fun. Alive After Five takes place every Wednesday during the summer on the Grove in downtown Boise.

Very truly yours,

Philip E. Batt
Governor
