Above downtown Juneau is St. Nicholas, the oldest original Russian Orthodox church in Alaska. A gilded onion dome crowns a humble, thatched roof cottage of white clapboard trimmed in Nantucket Blue; the bell in a small steepled doorway beckons all to enter.
