Pony Express, Gothenburg NE

This log cabin was one of the stations used by the famous Pony Express Riders of 1860-1861. Time-pressed riders galloped in, got a fresh horse, and dashed back to the road, in rain, sleet, snow, or dark of night, to get the "express" mail to its destination in record time.
