Natchez Trace Parkway, Port Gibson MS

A deep rut caused by ancient foot traffic reveals one of America's oldest roads, an 8000-year-old buffalo trace, worn deep by Indians, explorers and traders. Such notables as Hernando deSoto, Meriwether Lewis, Aaron Burr, Andrew Jackson, and Abraham Lincoln traveled this 500-mile route from Memphis to Natchez.
